Our 2010 Christmas Tree

Here's our 2010 Christmas tree!!!!!
There was a time many many years ago, we would put up 10 - 15 Christmas trees in our house--all decorated differently. There were many "traditionally" decorated trees and there were many "nontraditionally" decorated trees. But for the last 10 years or so, we have NOT even put up one Christmas tree. Why? Well, I guess it all boils down to being lazy, what can I say?

When we did put up a bunch of trees, we would start the day after Thanksgiving and continue working every evening after work and all day on weekends until early December.

I think one year I just decided--NO MORE! It's not like I won't get any Christmas presents just because there is no Christmas tree sooooooooooo what's the point?

Notice anything strange about the ornaments? There are none. Again, being the lazy person that I am, even though I have boxes and boxes and boxes of beautiful Christmas ornaments in the attic, I didn't want to go up there and get 'em! Nope!

So I walked around the house, looking for my collection of key chains. I collect key chains from all over the world. I love key chains. Such a wonderful reminder of a particular place. A key chain is small, doesn't usually cost THAT much, and I can buy bunches of them from everywhere and not take up much room in my suitcase. I must have hundreds and hundreds of them.
I even ask people who go travelling to bring me back a key chain!
But. . . as I walked around the house, I couldn't find them.
I was in the guest bedroom and oh my, but what do my eyes see? A huge pickle jar filled with beaded necklaces! YES!!!!!! End of problem. No more looking for key chains. I will use the beaded necklaces in the pickle jar as ornaments on my tree.

Some of the necklaces are my old necklaces that I use to wear many moons ago (no, I really don't throw anything away!). See that white one above? Yes, I used to wear that sucker!
Some are mardi gras necklaces that I think a friend gave me a while back and I kept, of course! Can you spot them?
The tree came pre-lite so all I had to do was put the beaded necklaces on. I had a beaded angel that I keep out all year so she became my tree topper!

It's not a particularly pretty tree but it's a tree; something we haven't had in a while so I'm happy!

Hope you enjoyed the glimpses of my beaded necklace Christmas tree.

Maybe by next year, I'll find my key chain collection and be able to decorate our 2011 Christmas tree with key chains as ornaments. Can't you wait that long to see it? I hope so. :}

Finally--the whole tree! If you're coming to the Red Hot Christmas Party tomorrow, you'll get to see it in person! Can you just stand it?
Have a Merry Christmas, y'all.
