Polymer Clay Time!

A couple of months ago, I took my first real polymer clay class and had a ball. We made a necklace and a bracelet. I love creating something useful and beautiful out of something that in itself is not very useful and far from beautiful.
On the red and black clay above, I stamped the oriental symbols using a gold metallic pad. After it was baked, it became part of the clay!

My brand new, never used, even though I've had it for over 6 months, convection oven. Isn't it pretty?

My bracelet is on the right. My friend, Carlos' is on the left. My bracelet is not all that perfect but for my first attempt. . . I like it. The size of the X's were determined by the diamond shaped cut-out. The smaller the diamond shape, the smaller the bracelet as you can see, comparing the size of mine to Carlos' bracelet.

I did my first Skinner Blend also--that's why the bracelet is a mix and blend of various colors. If you've watched any of Carol Duval's shows on TV, you probably saw someone demo how to make a Skinner Blend using a pasta machine.
Oh to be retired and have all the time in the world to just play with polymer clay! Sigh. . .
oh wait!!! I am retired. . .
